Las Vegas Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival 2006
2006 was year five for us at the Las Vegas festival. The weather made the weekend . . . interesting. A huge rain and thunderstorm rolled in Friday night, closing the festival early and keeping it closed until around noon on Saturday. Besides the flooding caused by the rain, there was also a broken water main on the grounds; fortunately, our encampment was above the flood level. Despite the bad weather, the festival was wonderful. We got to use a new sign and (second) gate for the dog pen, as well as new furniture (benches and tables) that we'd built over the summer. Mike cooked wonderful meals on-site utilizing our firepit and tripod and a new cooking-prep area in front of Jack's pavilion (the Regent). The crowds were as receptive (and generous) as ever, and we took in a lot of donations and gave out a ton of brochures. We also got to present our hunting demo again in the Field of Honor.
